Senator Michael Brooks to speak at Canadian County Democrats’ March 9 meeting

YUKON, Okla. — Senator Michael Brooks, a Democrat serving Senate District 44 which includes Mustang and South Oklahoma City, will be the featured speaker at the Canadian County Democrats’ meeting on Monday, March 9.

The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard.

Senator Brooks is an attorney and small business owner who was chosen by voters in a special election in 2017.

He ran unopposed and was re-elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 2018.

Senator Brooks is member of the Senate appropriations; judiciary; public safety; retirement and insurance; and business, commerce and tourism committees.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

Senator Brooks currently serves as board president of Santa Fe South Charter Schools and is a former board chair and current member of the Latino Community Development Agency board of directors.

He and his wife Jessica have two children. The family lives in Canadian County and attends St. James Catholic Church in South Oklahoma City.
