YUKON, Okla. – Lauren Craig, Oklahoma Democratic Party’s interim executive director, will speak to the Canadian County Democrats on Monday, March 11. The Democrats meet from 7-8:30 p.m. at Yukon Police Department at 100 S. Ranchwood.

A native of Yukon, Craig has political consulting experience with many winning Democratic campaigns including state Representative Jacob Rosecrants (D-46), state Senator Mary Boren (D-16) and Mayor Ed Bolt of Shawnee.

Craig worked for the state party as a consultant for more than a year before accepting the interim executive director position.

“Lauren has a passion for grassroots organizing and loves advocating for voters — helping them to feel informed and confident when walking into their polling places,” Canadian County Democrats Chair Jody Harlan said. “Her enthusiasm and positive approach to challenges inspires candidates to run for office and encourages progressive volunteers to work for positive change in Oklahoma.”

Craig will give an overview of where the Democratic Party stands, the focus for 2024 and how and why Canadian Democrats can get involved.

She will close her presentation by encouraging delegates to attend the state’s Delegate Selection Convention on April 6 at the Ardmore Convention Center.

Delegates at the state convention will elect Democrats to represent Oklahoma at the Democratic National Convention August 19-22 in Chicago.

Participants who want to join the Canadian County Democrats’ meeting on Zoom may email jodyharlan@gmail.com by Sunday, March 10, to request a Zoom link and code required to attend. This is necessary for security reasons based on interference in past meetings.

The CC Dems also livestream meetings on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/CanadianCoDems.
