From canvassing for candidates in special elections to dancing to the Bean Supper Band, there’s no lack of things to do for Canadian County Democrats this Summer. Don’t forget our annual School Supplies Giveaway on August 5 — buy in bulk or donate $ so we can get the best deals.
Every Sat. & Some Evenings through 7/11/17 – Walk or drive to help Michael Brooks-Jimenez win in Senate District 44 (Mustang in Canadian County). 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m. and time to be arranged during week. Election: 07/11/17. Call 405-326-3600 to sign up and get meeting location.
Tues., May 30 – Meet Steven Vincent, candidate for Senate District 45 (10 precincts in Mustang & S. Canadian County), 7-8 p.m. at Mustang Parks and Recreation, 1201 N. Mustang. Primary: 08/08/17. Election: 11/04/17.
Sat., June 3 – Block Party for Michael Brooks-Jimenez, 5 p.m., two blocks north on Westbrooke Blvd, west OKC. Hot dogs & moon bounce for kids. Directions: From I-40 headed west: Go south on Morgan Rd. Turn left (east) on SW 29th. Turn left (north) on Westbrooke Blvd. Party is on the green belt (park area).
Mon., June 12 – Canadian County Democrats Monthly Meeting, 7-8:30 p.m., at Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Blvd, Yukon. Speaker: Kendra Horn, executive director of Sally’s List and Women Lead Oklahoma.
Sat., June 17 – Families are welcome to attend our free FUNraiser (not FUNDraiser) picnic, 4 -8 p.m. at Wild Horse Park, 1201 N. Mustang Road in Mustang . We will honor CCD scholarship winner Kalyn Cargill. Bring food to share, lawn chairs, kids and Democratic friends.
Mon., July 10 – Canadian County Democrats Monthly Meeting, 7-8:30 p.m., at Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Blvd, Yukon.
Sat., July 22 – Annual Fiesta, 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Redlands Community College conference center, 1300 S. Country Club in El Reno. Keynote speaker, elected Democrats, Bean Supper Band & silent auction. Festive or work attire. Tickets $45 thru July 10. $55 after July 10 and at the door. Program ads and sponsorships available. Enter on west (back side) of main building located one mile north of I-40. Auction donations and volunteers needed.
Sat., Aug 5 – School Supplies Giveaway, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Lord’s Harvest Food Bank, 1020 Sunset Dr, El Reno. We help lower income kids get ready for school. Donations and volunteers needed.
Mon., Aug 14 – Canadian County Democrats Monthly Meeting, 7-8:30 p.m., at Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Blvd, Yukon.
