
Oklahoma union leader to speak June 9 to Canadian County Democrats
YUKON, Okla. – The Central Oklahoma Labor Federation President Tim O’Connor will speak to the Canadian County Democrats on Monday, June 9, at the Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard.
The group meets from 7-8:30 p.m. in the training room.
O’Connor has been president of The Central Oklahoma Labor Federation for 27 years.
He worked 29 years at Dayton Tire where he joined his first union, United Rubber Workers/United Steelworkers 998, in 1981.
O’Connor also joined Office Professional International Union 277 in 2006.
“The Central Oklahoma Labor Federation gives working people the power to fight back and advance the working-family agenda,” he said. “Together, we are building a movement that is constantly growing – a movement with the power to change our state.”
O’Connor also currently serves as Canadian County Democrats’ vice chair and helped revitalize the county Democratic party which reformed and has met consistently since April 5, 2003.
