Scholarship applications due to Canadian County Democrats by April 28

CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. – April 28 is the deadline for Democrats to submit applications for the Canadian County Democrats’ Robert “Bob” Burton Democratic Scholarship.
The Democrats have offered $500 scholarships for 17 years, which are awarded in memory of the organization’s former county vice chair.
Scholarship Committee Chair Shirley Burton is the widow of Bob Burton, for whom the scholarships are named. She is secretary of the Canadian County Democrats.
Scholarship committee members also include Laurie Hammons and Mark Hammons.
Applicants must be registered to vote in Canadian County and enrolled at least half-time at any accredited state-funded college, university or career technology center in Oklahoma.
Students of all ages are eligible.
Students may request an application from Burton or complete and submit a Google form at https://bit.ly/2023CCDScholarship.

Applicants must also submit supporting documents, including a brief essay, answers to several questions, two letters of recommendation and a copy of their voter registration cards.
Applicants who use the Google form must have gmail.com email accounts in order to upload supporting documents. Gmail accounts are free and easy to create at https://tinyurl.com/37fycmmp.
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
