Kevin Dawson for Labor Commissioner and Meredith McGinnis for Senate District 18 to speak June 8
Kevin Dawson, Democratic candidate for Oklahoma labor commissioner, and Meredith McGinnis for Senate District 18 will speak to the Canadian County Democrats meeting on Monday, June 8, at Canadian Valley Technology Center El Reno located at 6550 S. E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno.
Sarah Carnes, Democratic Congressional District 3 chair will lead the meeting between 7-8:30 p.m. in classroom 2A/2B. Guests are invited to use the east entrance on the south side of the building. CVTC requires visitors to bring state-issued IDs to be scanned for their visitor management system.
Dawson’s campaign focuses on workplace safety education, accountability for bad actors and building stronger relationships between the Department of Labor, businesses, workers, trade organizations and local communities.
He spent four decades working in safety-critical railroad operations, including extensive time working throughout the El Reno area and living in Yukon. His background includes service as a locomotive engineer, public safety manager, training manager and human resources manager.

“Those experiences shaped my belief that most Oklahoma businesses work hard to do things right and deserve a labor commissioner who understands both the realities of the workplace and the importance of fair, consistent enforcement,” Dawson said.

Meredith McGinnis is an attorney, community leader and advocate dedicated to building a stronger, more connected Oklahoma.
